Is Exercise More Valuable To Your Mental Health Than Your Economic Status?

Is Exercise More Valuable To Your Mental Health Than Your Economic Status?

Surprisingly, exercising and doing sport is more important to your mental health than your economic status, and how much you earn in a year, and that is according to the latest from Yale and Oxford researches.

Nowadays, there are so many things that we can be worried about, we can worry about work, our diet, how much we gain in a month or even a year, poor sleep, however, it is more important than ever to focus on your health and wellbeing.

The Effect Of Exercising, Physically, and Mentally.

It is crystal clear that exercise has a good effect on both physical and mental health. However, in this blog, we will emphasize the great effect of exercising on our mental health. According to the latest research from The Lancet, scientists have researched the physical behavior and mental mood of over 1.2 million candidates.

The experiment was mainly about asking the candidates some questions related to their exercising behavior, like “How many times have you felt mentally unwell in the past 30 days, for example, due to stress, depression, or emotional problems?”Also, they were asked about their economic status and physical activities.

More Active, Happier

One of the most obvious and yet surprising conclusions from that experiment was that the more active people are, the more their mental health is stable.

This means a happy life equals more activity and exercise. According to the previous study, The scientists found that those who exercised regularly tended to feel bad for 35 days a year, inactive participants felt bad for 18 days more. On the other hand, for people who are not active enough, scientists found out that to be as equally happy as the more active people, you would have to earn about $25,000 more a year! In other words, you’d have to earn a lot more to get you the same happiness effect that sport has.

Exercise is good for you, but how much is too much?

You can say that the more sport you do the happier you will be, but that is not the truth. Too much exercise can be detrimental to your mental health., which does not necessarily mean that the more sport you do the happier you are.

According to Adam Chekroud, A study author at Yale University, “The relationship between sport duration and mental load is U-shaped.”The study found that physical activity greatly affects your mental health only when it falls within a certain time frame.

According to the study, 3 to 5 training sessions, each lasting between 30 to 60 minutes, are IDEAL per week!. The study found out that those who exercise more than 3 hours a day, suffered more than those who weren’t particularly physically active. In addition to the previous inputs, the study found out that some kinds of sports, like team sports, tend to have a more positive effect on you than the individual ones.
