Feeling anxious is a very normal thing, as its a type of feelings that God has given us, but it may turn into a pathological picture that is difficult for a person to get rid of, it may even lead him to find it difficult to live his life in general.

What is the correct definition of anxiety disorder?

Anxiety is an increase in people’s feelings of anxiety to a degree that they have excessive and persistent fears of the simplest everyday situations and in many cases anxiety disorders amount to repeated episodes of

sudden feelings of intense anxiety, fear or terror, until they reach a peak and become a panic attack, these feelings affect daily activities, and are difficult for the sick person to control and may persist for a long time there are some patients resort to avoid certain places or situations to prevent themselves from feeling those feelings.

Anxiety disorder is not associated with a particular age group, and its symptoms may begin during the childhood years or adolescence, and continues into adulthood.

types of anxiety:

  1. agoraphobia:

It is the fear and dread of squares and being in crowded public places.

  1. Anxiety due to a medical condition:

  2. This type of anxiety is caused by a medical problem.

  3. Generalized anxiety disorder:

Excessive worry about doing any activity or events, even daily routines.

  1. Panic disorder:

It is a mixture of anxiety and fear that reaches its maximum levels within a few minutes

The patient with this type of anxiety may feel shortness of breath, rapid breathing, and pain in the

the chest.

  1. Optional silence:

The child’s inability to speak in certain situations, such as: being at school.

  1. Separation anxiety disorder

It is a childhood disorder characterized by excessive feelings of anxiety in the child and fear of separation from parents.

  1. Social anxiety disorder (social phobia)

It is a high level of anxiety and fear in which a person avoids social situations, he is always embarrassed and worried that others will judge him or look at him

negatively.

  1. Specific Anxiety Disorder and Unspecified Cardiac Disorder:

these are two terms for anxiety or phobias that are not associated with specific criteria for any disorders

infection, including symptoms such as:

  • Nervousness or tension.

  • Difficulty concentrating.

  • Insomnia.

  • fatigue.

  • confusion.

  • Excessive sweating.

  • Shortness of breath.

  • Abdominal pain.

  • Diarrhea.

  • headache.

  • Feeling of a lump in the throat.

  • Feeling of muscle tension.

Are there complications of anxiety?

Other mental and physical such as:

  1. Depression that usually occurs with anxiety disorder or other mental disorders

  2. Insomnia and difficulty sleeping

  3. Digestive or intestinal problems

  4. Headache and chronic pain

  5. Social isolation

  6. Difficulty coping at school or work

  7. Low outlook on life

  8. Suicide

Anxiety treatment:
