As we mentioned before, OCPD is one of the most common personality disorders, and there is some research that has shown that a not small percentage of the population of the planet suffers from OCPD, and it includes a persistent pattern of behavior that often begins when a person is a teenager or young person.
There is no specific cause for obsessive personality disorder. But upbringing has a role to play, like growing up in an environment with strict rules and harsh punishments, and it may also be genetic.
