Is Letting Go Good  For Your Mental Health? 

Letting go, and cutting ties can be really hard, and it is not an easy thing to do, and it is always seen as a mean thing to do. What people don’t know, relationships are not meant to last forever, especially toxic ones. After all, we’re always evolving. 

Relationships that are formed by your choice can be ended by your choice too. Friends, boyfriends, mentors, and acquaintances don’t necessarily need to be forever. Not developing as a human being, is a sign of being toxic, if you stayed where you are for too long a time you can be toxic for people around you as well as yourself. 

Sometimes, you are with the right people, at the wrong time, and sometimes you are with the wrong people at the right time, realizing that is a part of growing up, and taking actions is a part of evolving as a human being, that is why cutting unnecessary relationships is not being mean, it is a part of evolving, it is a part of taking care of your mental health.

How To Determine Which Relationship In Your Life Is Not Working?

You have to bear in mind, that cutting ties with people you used to know is not an easy thing, it is also not done after an odd one fight, there are some points that you should bear in mind upon them you determine that this relationship should be out of your life, and here are some of those points: 

1- Are You On The Same Energy Level? 

It is not the amount of energy that you should both have, it is where this energy should be put in. If you are around a bunch of friends who always want to go out and have fun, but you feel like you have outgrown this phase of your life, then this relationship is not meant to be alive anymore. 

2- Do You Share the Same Kind Of Core Values? 

When you first meet someone, you will be charmed by their aura, you are in the stage in getting to know them, and how charming they are, however after this phase and after the charm is gone, you begin to realize that you don’t share anything in common, not even the core values, what you both think is good or bad, what is ethical or not ethical. This is a critical situation, but you have to decide after realizing that, as you can’t have a long-term relationship with someone not on the same page. 

3- What is a RELATIONSHIP without SUPPORT? 

Relationships are based on pillars of support and not the support that you see in movies, but the amount of support that is at least expected by you. If you feel like you could not go to a certain set of people with your problems, then you have to re-evaluate your relationship with them.
